FireCharger can
be used for both Racing and Street Applications.
Racing applications can be approached in several different ways.
Halon systems are sold in 5 and 10 lb sizes which are equivalent
to a FireCharger 2.3 liter and 4.6 liter system. Because
FireCharger systems are so easy to recharge and you do it
yourself at the racetrack, having more than one system is now
possible.
FireCharger offers 3 different sizes to meet your extinguishing
requirements.
1.0 liter systems with 600lbs of initial discharge pressure.
2.3 liter systems with 600lbs of initial discharge pressure.
4.6 liter systems with 600lbs of initial discharge pressure.
These requirements can be met in several ways, such as Multiple
combinations from a single 1.0 liter system usable in Showroom
stock and improved touring groups, to multiple 4.6 liter systems
like used in NHRA funny cars. You can NEVER be too safe.
SCCA and NASA racing groups require at least a 2.25 liter
capacity minimum by volume for extinguishing capabilities.
Racers would only have 1 system because activation of the system
meant at least $200 to recharge it. Now when you have a fire in
the engine compartment alone, some racers would get out of the
car and wait for someone else to put out the fire. Racers do not
want to activate a system unless absolutely necessary. But with
the lost cost of the recharge and being able to recharge the
system yourself at the track, that is no longer a problem
